Fall 2020 Cancelled

Dear North Valley Families and Volunteers,

We hope you and your families are doing well.

With a sad and disappointed heart, we have to inform you that our upcoming 2020 Traditional Fall Soccer Season has been cancelled. This decision was not made easily, but all Regions and Areas in Section 10 have made the same decision. Everyone was hoping and looking forward to getting the Fall Season going, but the changes in the Covid-19 Emergency in L.A. County and the state as a whole have changed that outlook. The rise in Covid-19 cases statewide, the state toggling back opening different sectors, CIF moving all high school sports to next year and schools unable to open for in-person learning have made having a Fall Soccer Season impossible as of today.

Although we will not be able to have a traditional formal fall season, your Section 10, Area 10V and Region 174 board members have all expressed their dedication to try and get any sort of activity/events in place for our soccer players once state and local leaders allow. These possible activities or events could be skills training clinics, jamboree style pickup games or even the possibility of a more formal Spring Season. As of now, all options are available, but decisions will not be able to be made until the situation in the state, county and city change. Once we have more information and are able to have events, we will inform you immediately.

Once we are able to resume play in any form, we will need to abide by the guidelines set by the state and county health departments. AYSO has put together a microsite that has a lot of information for our parents and volunteers, including the Return to Play Guidelines. The website is a live document, meaning changes will be made as the situation continues to evolve. Local county and city laws and/or guidelines will be monitored by your Section, Area and Region, and we will keep all of our AYSO families informed. You may access the AYSO microsite here at

With regard to 2020 Fall Season registration fees paid, we will be issuing refunds for the full amount of fees paid. You do not need to send any emails or refund request forms as we will process refunds for all paid Fall 2020 registrations automatically. Please allow us 6-8 weeks to get all of the refunds processed and sent out. If you choose to donate your registration fees to the region instead of a refund, we would greatly appreciate it. Please let us know no later than August 11, 2020, at [email protected]. As a non-profit organization, we rely on our registration fees and fundraisers to keep the region operating. Your tax-deductible[1] donation will go to help maintaining our facility during this extended closure. We thank you in advance.

Please keep yourself and your families safe and healthy. We miss our AYSO families and players terribly but look forward to seeing you in the near future when we are able to get back on the field.

Thank you and take care.

Fall 2020 Registration Update 6/9/2020

Dear North Valley Families,

We hope everyone has been staying safe and healthy. We wanted to give you a quick update on our upcoming Fall Season.

As you know, the situation regarding COVID-19 is fluid and things are changing daily. With Los Angeles slowly starting to reopen, we know at some point we will be allowed to play soccer again. We want nothing more than to get the kids back onto our beautiful fields as soon as possible! However, we recognize there is the possibility we may not be able to. There is nothing more important than the safety of our players, volunteers, and supporters.

To that end, registration is currently open to Wait List at

Please log in and register your child for the 2020 Fall program. The system will automatically add your child to the Wait List at NO COST to you. This will save a spot for your child at the current registration fee. The price will increase July 18.

Once we know for sure the Fall program will happen, we will activate the registrations and you will receive an email requesting payment.

At that time the region's board will have a very short amount of time to plan the Fall season, so please pay ASAP so we'll be able to have the final count of players to form teams, find coaches, order uniforms, and do the many other things that need to be done in order to have a safe, fun and successful season.

Opening Day is still scheduled for Saturday, August 29, 2020.

If you are already registered for the 2020 Fall season - thank you!

Our goal is to provide a positive and rewarding soccer experience to each and every participant. As additional players are identified, they will be added to the program from the waiting list in a manner consistent with preserving balance in the affected division(s).

AYSO Region 174 provides for Open Registration. After August 1, 2020, registration is considered late. Late registrants will be placed on a team based on availability. If no availability, then your child will be placed on a waiting list upon completing the online registration process. There is no charge for being placed on the waiting list; if a spot opens up for your child you will be notified via email to log in and submit your registration fee as soon as possible. The season will begin August 29, 2020.

Your child’s birth year determines the division he/she will play in. The following are the cutoffs for each division.

Division Age
Under 6 (6U) – born in 2015 or 2016
Under 7 (7U) – born in 2014
Under 8 (8U) – born in 2013
Under 10 (10U) – born in 2011 or 2012
Under 12 (12U) – born in 2009 or 2010
Under 14 (14U) – born in 2007 or 2008
Under 16 (16U) – born in 2005 or 2006
Under 19 (19U) – born between 2002 to 2004

AYSO Region 174 strongly believes in balanced teams. To this end, any player in a competitive division (7U through 19U) that did not participate in the program during the 2019 Fall Season, must be evaluated prior to being placed on a team.

New player evaluations will be held on:

  • Boys 7U-19U: TBD.
  • Girls 7U-19U: TBD.

Make-up date:

  • Boys and Girls 7U-19U: TBD.

***Please Note*** This process is not a “try-out.” Each player attending the evaluation will be placed on a team. This is simply a tool to allow the Region to better balance the teams.

Should you have specific registration or refund questions, please contact the Regional Registrar via email.
