Dear North Valley Families,

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. These are unprecedented times but together, as a community, we will get through this and hopefully be back to normal very soon.

Unfortunately, with the social distancing policy being extended through April 30, we will not be able to have our traditional Spring Soccer Program. After much discussion, our Administrative Board felt it best to err on the side of caution and cancel the season.

Spring 2020 registration fees will be fully refunded. Please note that because of the program AYSO has set up for regions to use, it will take roughly 4-6 weeks to process the cancellation of our season. As I’m sure some of you have found, the registration site is not very user-friendly. It is just as user-unfriendly on the administrative side and we thank you in advance for your patience as we wade through the waters of cancelling more than 300 players’ registrations.

A check will be issued to the name on the account in the amount that was paid for Spring 2020. If you have moved since you’ve registered with us, please notify our registrar Abe Levy immediately at [email protected]. Please include your child’s full name.  

As disappointed as I am that we will not be having a Spring Season this year, the safety and well-being of our children, volunteers and families is paramount. We are still planning to hold Opening Day for the Fall Season on Saturday, August 29, 2020. Registration is currently open at www.ayso174.org. North Valley is my home away from home and I will be looking forward to seeing you all out on the fields in the Fall.

AYSO Region 174 provides for Open Registration. To find out if there is availability for your child’s age group, please enter your child’s birth date and gender into Blue Sombrero – our new online registration webpage – and the webpage will tell you if there is availability for your child’s age group.

If no availability, then your child will be placed on a waiting list upon completing the online registration process. There is no charge for being placed on the waiting list; if a spot opens up for your child you will be notified by email to log in to Blue Sombrero to pay the registration fee as soon as possible. Opening Day is April 21st, 2020. Games are played Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5:30 pm or 6:30 pm.

Spring Fees: $140 per player .
Registration will close on 3/16/2020

NO REFUND WILL BE ISSUED AFTER 3/17/2020. $20.00 AYSO Membership Fee is non refundable and will be deducted from your refund amount.

AGES AND DIVISIONS

Your child’s birth year determines the division he/she will play in. The following are the cutoffs for each division.

Division Age
Under 6 (6U) – born between 2014-2015
Under 8 (8U) – born between 2012-2013
Under 10 (10U) – born in 2010 or 2011
Under 12 (12U) – born in 2008 or 2009
Under 14 (14U) – born in 2006 or 2007
Under 16/19 (16U/19U) – born between 2001 to 2005

PLAYER EVALUATIONS

AYSO Region 174 strongly believes in balanced teams. To this end, any player in a competitive division (7U through 19U) that did not participate in the program during the 2019 Fall Season, must be evaluated prior to being placed on a team.

New player evaluations will be held on:

• Boys 7U-19U: TBD
  
• Girls 7U-19U: TBD
  

Make-up date:

• Boys and Girls 7U-19U: TBD
  

***Please Note*** This process is not a “try-out.” Each player attending the evaluation will be placed on a team. This is simply a tool to allow the Region to better balance the teams.
